Diagnostic Procedure

1. Confirm P0C46 front motor. Rear motor clear. Coolant reservoir full, no external leaks.

2. Monitor front motor coolant flow. Coolant pump running, but flow rate measurement at front motor inlet appears reduced.

3. Measure coolant temperature delta across front motor during load test. Inlet 31°C, outlet 74°C — 43°C delta. Rear motor delta: 18°C. Front motor is getting significantly less coolant flow than rear.

4. Inspect front motor cooling circuit. Kia E-GMP has an inline coolant strainer on the front motor circuit (serviceable filter, often overlooked in maintenance). Remove and inspect strainer.

5. Strainer 65% blocked with fine metallic particles from normal motor bearing wear over 44,000 miles — no abnormal wear, just accumulated debris.

6. Clean strainer with compressed air and rinse. Reinstall. Coolant flow audibly increases immediately.
